Abbey wood wedding // Lee & Emma

Abbey wood is many of you know is one of my favourite weddings! It really fits in with my relaxed photography and I find that it suits down to earth couples who want to have fun on their wedding day. Lee & Emma certainly fit this as they really did have such a wonderful day surrounded by their friends & family… and of course Sian the pooch!

Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)
Pre-hay fever season!

Anything about how you met/proposal story

I promised Emma – when we were 18 years old – that we would get married once Liverpool won the league again. She only had to wait 30 years. Great things come to those that wait (for both of us!!!!!!!)

Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day

We wanted a relaxed and happy day for us, and all our friends and family. We weren’t worried about wedding conventions, and formalities. We wanted to bring people together for a fun time, and to celebrate with us.

Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day

Both messing up with our vows!

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day

Jess was recommended by Abbeywood, and once we looked at her portfolio we knew she did the types of photos we wanted to reflect our day.

Wedding song?

Let’s Dance by David Bowie

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

Plan aspects such as the cake, flowers via the venue to help with communication, and making it easier for you in the weeks and day just before your big day.

Are you going on a honeymoon?

We went to Scotland, stopping off in the Lakes on the way there, and in North Yorkshire on the way home.

Anything else….

On your day try to take a step back once every hour together with you partner to see people coming together and enjoying themselves.
