Abbeywood Cheshire // Beth & Matt
Abbeywood Cheshire is a private wedding venue in Delamere Forest. Beth & Matt chose to get married in the glasshouse with reception in the gardens.
Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)
It was close to our 11 year anniversary.
Anything about how you met/proposal story
We have known each other since primary school and recently found out we actually met before that. Whilst watching a home video of Matt’s we spotted us stood by one another, me age 2 and Matt aged 3. What a coincidence!
Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day
Rustic, autumnal, relaxed and enjoyable!
Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day
Seeing the venue the day before with Matt and my parents, seeing how beautiful the ceremony room looked and feeling proud of how well it had all come together.
Seeing my niece in her flower girl dress. Just gorgeous.
My sister helping me into my dress.
When I was in the bridal suite in my dress, I watched Matt, her brother and best man walk from the house into the venue. His brother put his arm round him as they walked in, that point was really emotional for me.
Seeing Matt at the end of the aisle.
Being concerned at how warm Matt was when we held hands during the ceremony.
Turning to my niece before signing the register and her waving at Matt and I, she’d only learnt to wave a couple of days before. Perfect timing!
Matt’s speech, it was very heartfelt and the perfect mix of humour.
My niece blowing raspberries during my speech.
The night of dancing and drinking. Many many shots!
My 94 year old Nana on the dance floor and her calling it a night at 11:30, the DJ announced this and all our guests cheered and applauded her.

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day
I had seen your page on instagram.
Wedding song?

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff – no one knows what your “perfect” is meant to be.
Are you going on a honeymoon?
We went away in August for a reverse honeymoon due to me being a teacher and to combine it with celebrating Matt’s 30th. We went to Santorini.
Anything else….
The night after the wedding we booked a room in a lovely B&B took all the cards and gifts and sat and opened them whilst drinking champagne and eating wedding cake – that was another lovely moment.
