Arley Hall Cheshire // Anna & Felix

I absolutely loved capturing Anna and Felix wedding at Arley Hall in Cheshire back in August.Their venue was amazing. If you’ve not been to Arley Hall, you absolutely should! It is breathtaking, you arrive via a long country road, up a lime tree avenue to the most beautiful country home, surrounded by gardens right out of the pages of a story book. It’s been the set of many a film and I can see exactly why.

Anna ands Felix’ day was a laid back, laugher filled day in epic surroundings and with a huge firework finale!  There may also have been some rather lovely Jimmy Choo shoes ( two pairs to be precise……well why not?) Anna had some heels for the day and some cute Jimmy Choo trainers for the dancing too!

Anna and Felix chose me for their wedding following a recommendation from Louise & Ed. It’s always so brilliant to have a recommendation from a past couple, thanks guys! Anna and Felix told me that they wanted very relaxed shots on the day, which really suits my style of photography and I really enjoyed capturing their wedding. Thanks to Helen Williams Photography for second shooting for me on the day.

Anna and Felix were married in Arley Hall itself with a blessing in the chapel in the grounds. The guest then enjoyed a few drinks and wedding breakfast back in the Hall. It has an amazing atmosphere and the couple dressed the venue with lots of personal touches to make it their own for the day. Their cake was gorgeous, they had penguins and sheep for their theme with a world map table plan because they love to travel and a rainbow next to the cake because it’s Felix’s middle name.

I love a wedding where you can be in the one place for the whole day, take it all in and move from one space to the next. It was great to capture some of the quiet in between moments, like Felix constructing the lego groom that Anna had bought for him. Perfect distraction for a few moments of calm for the nerves.

In the evening the party continued in the converted stable barn and courtyard before everyone took to the lawns in front of the house. Now if you’re thinking, ‘wow that’s some pretty epic firework action’ then you’d be right. It just so happened that the evening of Anna and Felix’s big day coincided with the Northwest fireworks championships at Arley Hall, which ended with a 45minute spectacular finale! How lucky is that!
