Arley Hall // Natasha & Scott

Arley hall is a stunning Cheshire wedding venue. Arley Hall & Gardens is a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much-cherished family home.

The Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their vitality, variety and historical interest and are particularly celebrated for the magnificent double herbaceous border.

Describe your wedding in three words

Emotional, love, gardens

Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)

No particular meaning, we just wanted a summer date! Our birthdays are 27th and 29th December though and our wedding date is pretty much as far away as you can get!

Anything about how you met/proposal story

We met in air cadets as teenagers where we went shooting, flying, to camps and loads more. Our first kiss was on the way home from clay pigeon shooting! He proposed on holiday in Cornwall on a clifftop overlooking the sea, very unexpected but a long time coming!

Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day

Inspired by our love of gardens, we were really hoping to get married in the herbaceous border and luckily the rain stayed off so we did! I took lots of inspiration from Instagram and wedding magazines, and from previous beautiful weddings at Arley Hall.

Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day

Scott split his trousers on the dancefloor whilst dancing to Rasputin! Scott’s speech was very emotional as he remembered his late Mum, I know she would’ve been looking down on us on the day. A robin appeared as we were saying our vows which was very poignant.

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day

I looked on Instagram tagged photos for photographers who had worked at Arley Hall before, and really liked your relaxed style!

Wedding song?

James Morrison – I Won’t Let You Go

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff! It won’t matter on the day what the place name cards look like.

Are you going on a honeymoon?

Yes, we recently returned from the Maldives which was absolutely stunning! We swam with reef sharks and manta rays and enjoyed more than one trip to the spa!

Anything else….

Thank-you Jess for being so friendly and making us feel at ease on the day!
REVIEW

“Jess was absolutely brilliant throughout the whole wedding journey. From the first meeting Jess was really friendly and made us feel at ease. We found Jess through Instagram and the quality of photos and her style were exactly what wanted. Jess and her second shooter were absolutely fantastic throughout our whole wedding day, offering support and advice were we needed it. We aren’t the most comfortable in front of the camera but Jess was there to help us stay relaxed and make capturing the couples shots fun. After the ceremony we were able to mingle with our guests without having to worry about being pulled away to take photos. We could not ask for anything more and the preview photos we’ve received are stunning! It’s great being able to see those special moments captured in such a natural composition”
