Cheshire Farm Wedding Photographer // Lorraine & Simon

Amazing things happens when two farmers get hitched, its pretty special! I absolutely loved Lorraine and Simon’s Cheshire farm wedding day, from the church aisle lined with flower filled welly boots to tipsy guests posing on tractors and the occasional photobombing donkey. It was the perfect farm wedding! The weather was crazy and non stop all day long but it didn’t dampen spirits in any way.

Lorraine and Simon had a gorgeous church wedding followed by a marquee celebration back at home on their Cheshire farm. Being real genuine bona fide farmers they had to plan their big day around the harvest, but didn’t want to leave it too late on in the year as they really wanted a marquee farm wedding.

I was recommended to Lorraine and Simon by Wedding Day Details who provided all their lovely stationery and after looking at my photography style on my Facebook page, decided I was the girl for the job! I’m so pleased they did.

Simon proposed to a totally surprised Lorraine on Christmas day back in 2015 at her mum’s house in front of her mum and sister;

“I had no idea so was very shocked and emotional to say the least. He got down on one knee too so I was impressed.”

So after that the planning began! With mammoth Pinterest (LOVE Pinterest) and internet search sessions. As well as taking inspiration from other weddings they went along to as guests while engaged. Of course there had to be lilac, specifically according to Lorraine ‘Lilac, lilac and then some more lilac’..it her favourite and looked gorgeous throughout the day.

“We kept aspects of our wedding in the farming theme. Our aspiration for the day was to enjoy it as everyone told us how quickly the day would go. We hoped everything would run smoothly but as long as the two of us were happy, that’s all that mattered.”

Lorraine said that when the wedding day itself finally came round that it really was an absolute dream come true. After all the planning, emotions and memories it was just the perfect day. As with all the amazing weddings I get to be a part of, it was a day that was filled with love, emotional moments and huge joy. Poignant moments; not having Lorraine’s dad to walk her down the aisle, but Simon’s face when he saw his bride coming towards him. The speech delivered beautiful by Lorraine’s sister and the laughs as Simon’s just could not get his ring on in church, he had a serious case of sweaty nervous groom hands! Details that I get to capture that make each day individual and beautiful.

Thank you so much to Lorraine and Simon for choosing me to be their wedding photographer, it was a totally brilliant day and I loved being part of it. Here’s just a small selection of the huge number of photos I took on the day.
