Describe your wedding day

Best day ever

Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)

Fridays are cheaper than Saturdays, and good luck getting a Summer wedding date 6 months before you want to get married…

Anything about how you met/proposal story

We met on Hinge in March 2022 – James lured me in with his nerdy Harry Potter anecdotes, and thankfully my cat ownership / vegetarianism didn’t put him off too much. 16 months later, in July 2023, he proposed in Macclesfield Forest, one of our favourite places to go walking. The big bulge in his pocket, plus the fact that for once in his life he had checked the weather forecast, gave the game away a bit, but it was still a wonderful proposal and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day

Classy (Black tie and black bridesmaids dresses), but also relaxed and natural. Definitely no enormous princess dress for me

Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day

James’ beautiful speech, going down the aisle with my amazing dad, throwing some very questionable shapes on the dancefloor.. Just generally spending the day with all our closest family and friends.

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day

Instagram, we chose you because your photos have a lovely tone to them, plus you are much more about the candid, more natural style (perfect for two awkward people who couldn’t pose if their lives depended on it).

Wedding song?

Stand by me – Ben E King
