COLSHAW HALL WEDDING VENUE

Colshaw Hall – a beautiful country estate prides itself on being one of Cheshire’s most exclusive and luxurious wedding venues.

 Sitting within 300 acres of Cheshire countryside, Colshaw Hall is a privately owned country estate. The Irlam family lived at the Hall for years before lovingly restoring it and turning it into the award winning wedding venue it is today. Located in Lower Peover, just outside Knutsford, Colshaw Hall is within easy reach of Chester, Manchester and Liverpool, all of which have great travel links. Ideal if couples have guests coming from further afield for their wedding.

Colshaw Hall weddings

Colshaw Hall is a beautiful venue, surrounded by green fields and grassland. It definitely has the ‘wow factor’ when you arrive and head up the long, winding driveway towards the Hall. The impressive Hall is built in a Tudor style however still retains a warm and homely feel from its years as a family residence. 

Couples normally get ready in the Hall itself, or in the courtyard cottages, before making their way over to one of Colshaw Hall’s three licenced wedding spaces – either outside in the Magnolia Garden or the Walled Garden. Or in the Stables, the spacious, purpose built ceremony building which is full of natural light. 

Wedding photographs at Colshaw Hall

I feel so spoiled for choice when it comes to wedding photographs at Colshaw Hall. With 300 acres of private estate there really are endless opportunities for incredible portraits. I absolutely love the Japanese Gardens, complete with a miniature lake, a bridge and amazing colours wherever you look. The Magnolia Garden is also a favourite, it’s private and tucked away at the rear of the Hall so couples are able to enjoy a bit of time away from the party. The perfect chance to have a little catch up and revel in the fact they’ve just tied the knot! 

Wedding receptions take place in the Walled Garden, just outside the Peel Suite. The formal, manicured lawns make a lovely spot for guests to relax, enjoy some canapes and make the most of beautiful weather. The Peel Suite itself is great to head into if the weather takes a turn and is also where wedding breakfast and evening celebrations are held. 

The Peel Suite is a large, contemporary events space. Purpose built for weddings it has everything you need for a fantastic party. Huge windows line one wall, letting in lots of lovely light and with views out over the Walled Gardens. It’s luxurious, grand and state of the art, the ideal spot for a wedding celebration. 

Weddings all year round at Colshaw Hall

Whatever the time of year, Colshaw Hall is an incredible wedding venue. It’s so well-equipped and has so much space that whatever the weather, whatever the season, your wedding day can be perfect. 

In spring and summer the outdoor space at Colshaw really comes into its own. Daffodils line the driveway, the Japanese Garden is filled with colour and many couples opt for an outdoor wedding ceremony. 

As the year moves through to autumn the trees lining the driveway turn red and gold. It’s a magnificent sight. Sunsets tend to be amazing at this time of year and I’ll always keep an eye out for couples and let them know if we need to head outside for some beautiful sunset photographs. 

In winter the Hall transforms into a romantic, cosy and festive space. The log fires are lit, the Hall is beautifully decorated around Christmas time and couples love swapping their reception drinks for hot cider and mulled wine!
