Jessica and Mike // Combermere Abbey
Lovely Jessica and Mike were married in the autumn sunshine at stunning Combermere Abbey. It is a beautiful setting, a long sweeping private country road that leads you through open fields of the Combermere Abbey Estate. You arrive at a secluded walled garden and in apple orchard of the walled garden is an incredible glasshouse. it was here that Jessica and Mike exchanged their vows. They and their family and friends then walked through the orchard under a clear blue autumn sky to the pavilion garden for drinks and lawn games. It was pretty perfect.
Jessica and Mike first met on a blind date, bowling and it was the start of something special with Mike proposing with a vintage ring on top of a mountain ‘with a bag of chips’! Brilliant!
Jessica told me that for their day they wanted to draw inspiration from the season, the surroundings, nature, and just wanted it to be romantic, which it really was. The couple chose lots of personal touches throughout the day like their world map inspired ‘where in the world am I sitting’ seating plan, genius!
I absolutely loved photographing their day at Combermere Abbey. Jessica and Mike were possibly the most relaxed couple ever and they spent the whole day just laughing. We had gorgeous weather and autumn feels and the sunlight at the end of the day was awesome. They didn’t really want too many portraits but they rocked it…. and we had such a laugh! Combermere Abbey is just a treat for the senses everywhere you look, cool brick walls with climbing flowers, archways, huge rustic garden gates, it is a bit of a dream really!
Jessica and Mike also chose to have a second shooter (a second photographer) on the day as well as a highlight film. So I had a team of two extras to capture their day. It means that you can capture even more of the wedding and you can see from the photos all the different angles they cover.
I met Jessica and Mike through my wonderful mum, who apparently carries a supply of my business cards with her where ever she goes and hands them out to unsuspecting brides to be! My mum got chatting to Jessica about her wedding at Combermere Abbey and I never thought I’d hear from them however I did and they booked!
“Jess’s mum was my client in the salon and gave me her card, we Facebook stalked Jess and loved her work! After meeting her we were so happy with our choice as she totally got us and made us feel relaxed about the whole thing!
We had an incredible day with so many amazing and funny moments; including Jess shouting at us to kiss! The speeches and cousin Freya doing her thing throughout the day and of course the dance floor!
Just a huge thank you to you and the boys, you made our day so funny and special , even my Grandad was complimenting you all about how much you all did! thank you!!! “
Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Tranter, it was a total pleasure being part of your day at Combermere Abbey and I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed quite so much, ever! (no really..my face hurt!)
I hope you enjoy looking at these images and if you are getting married and haven’t met my mum and got a business card from her, you can get in touch with me directly and tell me all about your plans!
love Jess
