Couple Portraits

Couple portraits can be one of the most daunting parts to a wedding …. who exactly feels really comfortable in front of the camera unless you’re a super model! One of my most asked questions is always around the couple portraits so thought I would add this to my wedding guide.

I am very laid back and this is just a small snippet of the day… it’s a great time for the two of you to take time out and I do this usually is twenty minute sections. I’ll slip you away from your guests just before the meal (after the family portraits) and here are a few tips –

RELAX!

It really is the perfect opportunity to slow the day right down, and enjoy having a moment between you both – it’s something that I promise you’ll smile about when reminiscing on your day. A few little prompts from me and I’ll be looking for the best light. It’s all of those little moments before and after, I may suggest we head to a certain location but I will keep shooting – I will ask you to walk away, chat and take it all in!
Keeping close, holding hands and having a kiss…. make each other laugh.

Some couples, although it’s rare have opted to have zero couple portraits and if that’s what you would prefer I totally respect your decision. Each and every wedding is different.
Just remember you’ve hired a natural documentary photographer, so there’s not going to be any awkward posing – just a lot of fun and laughter between the pair of you.

EVENING PORTRAITS

Another twenty minutes for your evening portraits, usually ALOT more relaxed! You have both got used to me being around… maybe had a few drinks and starting to feel less stressed. Depending on the season you may have golden hour (my fave!!) and I get far too excited when this happens.
