Delamere Manor – luxury Cheshire wedding mansion

Once famous for being the home of Gary Barlow – one of Cheshire’s most well known residents – Delamere Manor has, over the last few years, been making a name for itself as one of the most luxurious wedding venues in Cheshire. 

Set amidst 100 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside, Delamere Manor is the perfect spot for a romantic wedding celebration. It boasts a huge lake (covering six acres!) as well as woodland, rolling fields and a stunning terrace and lawn area. 

Weddings at Delamere Manor

Delamere Manor is an exclusive use venue, meaning that couples can take over the entire property with their friends and family. From morning preparations in the stylish bedrooms through to the end of the night party in the Manor’s very own nightclub, Delamere Manor has everything a couple needs for an incredible wedding day. 

Within the grounds there are no less than five licenced spaces to hold a wedding ceremony. Four of the spaces allow couples to have an outdoor ceremony whilst the fifth is truly unique – a contemporary Courtyard space complete with fully retractable roof and fairy lit covered canopy. Couples can begin their ceremony with the roof fully retracted but have the peace of mind of knowing that if the weather takes a turn no one needs to make a dash for cover. Instead, within a few seconds, outdoors will become indoors and the ceremony can continue. It’s such an incredible addition to the Manor. 

If the weather is playing ball couples can get married on the jetty overlooking the lake. One or two of Delamere’s resident swans can often be spotted gliding past during the ceremony! Other outside ceremony options include the Manor’s terrace, the summer house, the pergola and the garden folly. All are idyllic and romantic with stunning views. I honestly don’t know how couples make a choice! 

Of course, if you’re planning a more traditional ceremony then there are plenty of beautiful churches and chapels in the surrounding area. The pretty Cheshire villages of Cuddington and Sandiway are just minutes away while larger towns such as Northwich and Knutsford are all within half an hour drive.

I love a Delamere Manor wedding, whether it’s a sunny spring wedding outside on the lawn or a cosy, intimate winter celebration under a canopy of stars in the Courtyard. I’ve photographed smaller micro weddings of just 13 people through to huge celebrations with over a hundred guests there. Whatever the wedding size, Delamere Manor always feels romantic and luxurious. 

I love taking couples for a little stroll around the grounds – or we can leap onto the golf buggy to explore further afield! The long, winding tree lined driveway always makes for a great photograph whilst the lakeside is a beautiful, quiet spot for portraits. 

During the wedding reception guests congregate on the stone terrace, with those incredible views over the countryside. The outside bar is an excellent touch! In colder (or wetter) weather the post ceremony celebrations move into the Manor house and guests love exploring all the beautifully decorated rooms. 

As evening falls, and the party begins, guests make their way down to the nightclub. Once home to Gary Barlow’s recording studio this is now a cool, monochrome space. Perfect for everyone to hit the dancefloor and spend the rest of the night partying to a band or DJ.
