Delamere Mini Shoots // Lily

Delamere Mini shoots in the forest. As a photographer I know how nerve wracking it can be to get in front of the camera when you’re the one used to being behind it. And as a photographer I also know how nerve wracking it can be to take pictures of fellow photographers so I was both delighted and a little bit nervous when fellow photographer and friend Livi came to me for some much wanted family pictures.

I needn’t have been nervous though and neither should she because she was a natural! Her gorgeous little girl Lily looked so happy to be out with her mum and dad and I got some beautiful shots of the three of them together.

Here’s what she had to say about being in front of the camera this time!

“We had our first family photoshoot with Jess in October. Something we have wanted to do for so long but probably have been putting it off as the thought of a camera being in front of me makes me a little nervous! I WISH we had done this sooner. Jess was professional and made us feel so calm… It didn’t even feel like a photoshoot, more like a walk in the woods with a friend! Jess was brilliant with our daughter who didn’t stop talking about her all the way home!

When we received our photos I was blown away and overcome with all sorts of emotions! Finally, beautiful photographs of all 3 of us together (including our crazy dog) that we can cherish forever. Something you cannot put a price on.

We cannot thank Jess enough. I have now told my partner this will be our new yearly thing and of course we will be choosing Jess every time :)”

So the moral of this story is, we’re all nervous about being in front of the camera, even us seasoned photographers, but go for it, push yourselves out of your comfort zone. You won’t regret it when you’re looking back on your family memories in years to come.
