When Lucy and Iain told me they were getting married at Dorfold Hall in Nantwich, Cheshire I was super excited for their big day to come around. The grade one listed Jacobean House is just beautiful, with gorgeous gardens and so much scope for incredible pictures. It’s the perfect place to get married.
Their wedding day certainly didn’t disappoint! I spent the morning with Lucy and her nearest and dearest in one of the sophisticated bedrooms in the main house at Dorfold. Lucy’s lace fishtail dress complimented her elegant, fresh look perfectly and she looked incredible next to her bridesmaids who were all dressed in white.
When the boys arrived all suited and booted in black tie, I could feel the excitement as the girls watched them from the window. Their natural camaraderie shone through, shades on, shoes polished I could tell it was going to be a relaxed day with lots of fun.
Dorfold Hall has a 200 year old Coach house where the wedding ceremony takes place so the boys headed over to the Coach House with my brilliant second shooter (another) Lucy and I was there to capture bride Lucy as her dad saw her in her dress for the first time.
The ceremony, performed by Ian’s best friends mum as registrar went without a hitch and we all wandered leisurely into the flower strewn grounds of Dorfold to chill on the lawn. Guests enjoyed the sun whilst we got some pictures with their adorable black Labradors Monty and Cooper, who had got the memo about the dress code and came ready in their very own doggy bow ties.
Lucy and Iain were also really keen to get some golden hour portraits so as soon as that sun started setting I whisked them out into the beautiful grounds and we got some gorgeous pictures of them hand in hand by the lake with the sun going down over the water. Bliss! Then of course it was time to party…The DJ and percussionists were amazing and the dance floor was always full, the perfect end to the perfect day at Dorfold Hall.

The venue itself was so amazing from the architecture to the gardens, and it being only ten minutes away from our house we didn’t look anywhere else. Dorfold Hall did all the talking for us.”
