Doubletree Chester Wedding // Natalie & Owen
I have a really gorgeous rustic wedding to share with you today, possibly from one of the most blustery days I’ve ever photographed! Lovely Natalie and Owen were married in church on the 21st October followed by celebrations at the Doubletree Hilton, Chester. Some days mother nature plays a role in proceedings and this gorgeous wedding day was definitely one of them. Owen jokingly summed up the day in a word, ‘Windy!’ It certainly was with Storm Brian turning up without an invite! Not that it stopped play in anyway for this slightly cricket inspired day.
Natalie and Owen met on a night out in Nantwich on Boxing day back in 2012. Love blossomed and in a lovely full circle, they got engaged on Christmas Day, three years later. I do love a festive proposal, it’s very romantic isn’t it?
They discovered me on facebook and I’d also been recommended by a family friend;
We liked your relaxed and natural style of photography. We are really looking forward to seeing how you were able to express our special day.
The pair were married at church in Tarporley, where Natalie walked down the aisle with her mum. Natalie looked just totally breathtaking, I absolutely adore her stunning sweetheart dress. They make such a cute couple and the church service was perfect. And a total first for me was getting to photograph a cricket bat archway as the new Mr and Mrs Williamson exited the church!
The couple wanted a really rustic wedding theme that suited the autumnal time of year and they created a gorgeous rustic vibe in the surroundings of the Double Tree Hilton. They had an epic rustic wedding cake made entirely of the couples favourite cheeses. It was decorated with seasonal touches like little pumpkin gourds, fruits and a small pirate! The tables had soft hessian rustic swags, bark covered candlesticks, stunning rustic twig tree centre pieces with flowers, mosses and pine cones too. Their guest book was a cute little wooden heart theme frame and the letter box was so unusual, loved it!
We wanted a rustic wedding theme to fit the season with lots of fun and dancing that’s why we put on different entertainment. Everyone singing during the meal was an unexpected bonus also ..plenty of cheese to eat! Also Natalie losing her Umbrella when we went outside was pretty memorable!
We managed to get a handful of great photos outside at the Hilton but Storm Brian was really in full swing by this stage. We took Natalie’s umbrella basically getting trashed and blown away off somewhere into the storm as a sign that maybe it was time to move back indoors! With Storm Brian raging outside, it made for such a lovely cosy atmosphere indoors as everyone settled in for the rest of the celebrations. The speeches were emotional, humorous and a bit raucous in equal measure, the perfect balance.
Natalie and Owen took to the dance floor for their first dance which was Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran. The party really got started with the raucous joyous behaviour filling the dance floor, I know I say it every time, but I really do love photographing this part of the day!
Thank you so much to Natalie and Owen for letting me be your photographer and to all your family and friends who made me so welcome,
