Lake District Photographer // Lauren & Matt

Lauren and Matt got married at the beautiful old Victorian mansion Langdale Chase Hotel, which looks over Lake Windermere in the Lake District. The old stone building is breath taking and the inside is just as lovely, which was perfect for their intimate ceremony on the dark wood stairs of the impressive hall. They said their vows surrounded by just 34 of their closest friends and family including their (rather vocal) 10 month old son, who looked absolutely gorgeous in his wedding attire to match Dad Matt.

Lauren and Matt’s wedding was lovely and relaxed, Matt even had a Batman ring which he sneaked past Lauren via his best man. I love the non-traditional details couples bring with them to their special day, it really makes things personal to them and all the more exciting for me to capture. Lauren also incorporated her favourite colour into the gorgeous lilac bouquets and bridesmaid’s dresses which complimented the grey stone of the old building perfectly.

The Lake District is a beautiful place however true to form (even in June!) there was plenty of rain, however we worked around the showers and got some gorgeous natural shots in the gardens in amongst the flowers and the grounds and overlooking Lake Windermere.

After an emotional speech from Lauren’s Grandad to remember her Dad, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the house, the couple cut the cake kindly made by a family member (another amazing personal touch!) And despite being non-traditional and not having a first dance, by 10.30 they had been persuaded to enjoy a ‘twirl’ around the dancefloor to ‘Nothing else matters’ by Metallica which luckily happens to be one of Lauren’s favourite songs. The whole wedding party joined in and it turned out to be one of Lauren and Matt’s favourite moments.
