North West Wedding Venues

The North West is renowned for its incredible wedding venues and each year thousands of couples travel from further afield to get married in the North West. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the rest of the UK, there’s absolutely beautiful venues all over the country but there’s something special about our venues up in the North West.

Here are a few of my favourite’s if you’re out of town and looking to get married in the North West or if like me you’re in Cheshire but fancy straying a little further from home to find your perfect wedding venue.

alternative wedding photographerIscoyd Park

I might be a bit biased about this one. I absolutely ADORE Iscoyd Park, a beautiful old Georgian house, it sits right in between North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire so it’s perfect if you’ve got friends coming from all over, I’ve taken the most beautiful pictures in the grounds of Iscoyd and it’s definitely one not to miss. It’s been owned by the same family since 1843 and they have an absolutely beautiful ceremony room, gorgeous grounds and a rustic wedding breakfast room which I love shooting in every time I’m there.

The Plough Inn

The Plough Inn at Eaton is a great one for small weddings. Seating up to 50 people it’s cosy and homely and I love the barn setting with all the exposed beams, great if you’re looking for a small intimate barn wedding in the Northwest.

Walcot Hall

Walcot Hall, is a Grade II listed Georgian gem, little known to most people but a bit of a secret feast for the eyes when it comes to location. There’s a quirky, old, corrugated iron chapel painted in mint green and red which makes for amazing photos and a glamping site and lots of onsite accommodation if you’re one of those couples that fancy making a weekend of it with all your friends and family from far and wide.

Merrydale Manor

A bit more manicured, with stunning lawns, Merrydale Manor is another incredible North West wedding venue that I’ve shot at a number of times. It has a beautiful light and airy barn where you can tie the knot as well as the Merrydale suite which has it’s own climate control! Swanky eh?

 Cheshire Woodland Weddings

And last but certainly not least, another one of my favourites in the North West is Cheshire Woodland Weddings which is quite literally, a woodland. Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside you get to marry in the great outdoors. We all know I love a good forest (Delamere I’m looking at you) and this one doesn’t disappoint. There are loads of activities onsite if you’re up for an all muck in type of wedding and you can even have an owl deliver your rings through the trees. Harry Potter vibes anyone?

The North West really is a cracking place to get married, but I would say that, it’s my home and I really do love it.
