Nunsmere Hall Northwest // Charlotte & David
Charlotte and David celebrated their beautiful wedding at Nunsmere Hall in Cheshire, it’s one of my favourite venues. The day started with all the bridal prep at Charlotte’s family home, surrounded by her gorgeously welcoming family and bridesmaids. The getting ready moments, I love so much, all the laughter, nerves, the first time her dad sees her, the quiet moments with her mum. It’s why I do this amazing job, it’s a privilege to capture the little things that make up the whole day. From getting ready right through to the first dance, to that classic ‘sixties sonnet’ ‘The Wonder of You’ by Elvis! (They honeymooned in Hawaii..I think Elvis would have approved!)
Charlotte and David found me after a good internet search, don’t you just love the internet! How would we ever find each other without it! And we arranged to meet up;
We had an idea of what we wanted for our photography and when we met you at the Fishpool pub, we knew in an instant that you were the photographer for us! We couldn’t have wished for a better photographer. The consummate professional; cool, calm and collected and we enjoyed your company on the day so much! Also, you deserve a medal for co-ordinating that enormous group shot!!!
Charlotte and David were engaged in Copenhagen last NYE and were married in front of a packed crowd at the rather impressive St John the Evangelist in Walton. The church is really breathtaking and the windows pour in soft light that gives everything a gorgeous warmth, very much reflective of the whole feel of their day.
They celebrated at Nunsmere Hall, a really unique place with so many options to personalise the day. It’s also total heaven for a wedding photographer too because of the variety of stunning locations. Nunsmere Hall itself is a lovely country house, with foliage climbing it’s walls, you reach it along a twisting tree lined lane that winds like something from an old film, revealing the hall from behind the woodland.
It’s set in unbelievable grounds too, surrounded almost entirely on all side by a stunning mere.…I’m guessing Nunsmere! Then of course there’s the marquee….so beautiful with views out across the grounds of Nunsmere Hall.
The couple planned a day full of love, fun and in Charlotte’s words ‘pink’! From the flowers to the paper lanterns in the stunning marquee at Nunsmere Hall, gorgeously pink through out!
“We went for traditional with a modern twist. Blush pink and navy theme. All about family, which meant a ridiculously large bridal party and a room full to the brim with LOVE and lots and lots of food and booze (the key to a successful day in my view!)”
They didn’t have a set date in mind for their wedding but as it turned out, it was the day after David’s parent’s wedding date. So joint party celebrations on the horizon next year, a 50th and their 1st wedding anniversary!
I loved every minute of Charlotte and David’s day, the speeches were a real stand out moment, hilarious and emotional in equal measure;
My dad’s speech was one of our absolute highlights. He suffered a stroke about 5 years ago, which seriously impacted his ability to communicate, reading, writing and particularly his speech. We weren’t sure whether it was going to be possible for him to do the traditional father of the bride speech, which I was devastated by. However he was absolutely determined to do this for our family and for me his only daughter.
After a lot of practice, blood sweat, tears and perseverance by both my Dad (and Mum and brothers!) he made the most beautiful, hilarious and heartfelt speech. He was so nervous and I remember turning each page for him as he read it ….He absolutely nailed it!!! We displayed the words on a screen but he didn’t even need them. We were all so proud of him, as was he! He has now taken up public speaking in his local stroke association meetings! An absolute golden moment and one we will never forget.
Huge congratulations to Charlotte and David, thank you, you wonderful beings, for letting me be part of your day!
