I met Luna and her parents for and outdoor shoot in the woods, it’s my favourite location for pictures in Cheshire! Their mid-week shoot was fun and little Luna had the best time.
I love getting that essence of a family captured, the little personalities of the kids, whether it’s carrying an extra large stick around for the whole shoot or jumping in every puddle they see, I’ll be there to capture it. I love encouraging the kids to play and be kids and you won’t find lots of posing on your shoot with me. There was plenty of space for Luna to run around and we got some gorgeous shots of her on her own and with mum and dad. The ferns were in full bloom and the greens and autumnal colours were the perfect backdrop.
I asked Laura – What was your favourite part of the shoot? “How relaxed it all felt! I didn’t really know what to expect but we basically went for an autumn walk with Luna and played around as a family, normal every day things but dressed up! It felt like we went for a walk with a friend who took really nice photos of us. We feel we can take nice photos of each other on phones, but there’s never anyone to capture all three of us together in a style we like.”
Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the shoot
Falling into EVERY hole!! About five minutes into the half hour shoot I was fussing with Luna’s headband (toddlers and hair accessories don’t mix well) and tripped and fell down into a hole. For the rest of the shoot Jess shouted “HOLE” when ever she saw mud or a hole – there’s some images of us playing in a big sand hole and I look so nervous! I’ve followed your instagram for a while for wedding things and had seen your family shoots, I loved your clean bright photos that I could imagine on my walls at home.
A little review…
Jess was professional and also fun, it felt like we had known each other for ages. The shoot was really personal to us and it felt like we had brought a friend along for a walk who happens to take wonderful photos. We take nice photos on our phone but we can never capture the three of us being a family together and Jess did just that!
