Stockport Plaza Manchester // Anne & Brett
These two knew they were destined for each other when they met at a job interview and 18 months later I was invited to their quirky, vintage wedding at Stockport Plaza, a historic Stockport landmark to photograph their big day.
The beautiful Art Deco cinema building, which sits slap bang in the middle of Stockport was the perfect place for their vintage inspired wedding.
Anne said about their venue…
“As soon as we stepped into the Plaza it felt right and very us. Quirky, unusual but everyone who knew us got it on the day. We wanted everything to be relaxed and fun. The venue is incredible and meant that it didn’t need any decorating.”
Anne wore an Audrey Hepburn inspired dress and looked gorgeous walking down the aisle through the blue and gold Art Deco cinema chairs. Each guest got an old cinema ticket as they walked in and ice cream from old style trays instead of canapés. I loved every single one of their vintage touches, especially the mint choc chip coloured VW camper van that Anne arrived in.
What a venue! The space in Stockport Plaza was amazing, couple’s portraits on the stage with the dramatic lighting and in amongst the big old projectors in the projection room made for the perfect setting to fit in with the vintage touches of the day. And those mint green chairs at the wedding breakfast. Swoon.
Anne and Brett wanted a wedding that was fun, fabulous and unforgettable and they certainly got that at Stockport Plaza surrounded by their family and friends.
After their first dance to “If you don’t know me by now” by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes it was time to party on down under the bright lights of the silver screen.
A brilliant day, thanks Anne and Brett and Stockport Plaza for having us.
