The Inn at Whitewell Lancashire // Laura & Ben

Laura spotted my work looking through a friend’s wedding album and a year later I was capturing Laura and her fiancé Ben’s own wedding at The Inn at Whitewell in the lovely Lancashire sun.

Laura and her dad shared an emotional 15 minutes together waiting for the wedding cars and both shaking decided a little Dutch courage was in order. Two gin and tonics later and they were ready to face groom Ben for their long walk down the aisle at St Leonards Church in Padiham. It was then on to The Inn at Whitewell which sits high on the banks of the River Hodder with stunning views of the Lancashire countryside for the reception.

Florist Elaine at Felicity Farm Flowers had decked the tables out with wildflowers and the marquee looked beautiful, a vision of the English countryside. The whole wedding was filled with bride Laura’s crafty touches including the amazingly intricate paper flower bouquets and the giraffe cake topper (appropriate when you’re both over 6ft!). Laura’s mum had even made the incredible cake which looked so tasty covered in meringue swirls.

The Inn at Whitewell sits right on the River Hodder and we had lots of fun with the stepping stones, my second photographer James even wading in to the river to capture some great shots of the whole bridal party spread out across the stones from one side to the other. That’s dedication for you! We got some lovely shots of all Laura’s girls, laughing together in the Lancashire fields and of course the happy couple on the banks of the Hodder.

Laura and Ben’s first dance was to Usher’s ‘Something Special’ where they were joined by their effortlessly cute two year old Harry for their first family dance as “The Murray’s.”

A beautiful, relaxed, English country garden wedding it was a pleasure to shoot, have a great time on your honeymoons you lucky things as you ring in the new year with style!
