Tower Hill Barns // Katherine & Nick
I was recommended to Katherine and Nick by their friend Charlotte and when they got in touch with me to photograph their Tower Hill Barns wedding I jumped at the opportunity to shoot at such a gorgeous venue.
They took a chance on the April weather and they certainly hit the jackpot! In what turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far, the sun shone which meant they got to have their ceremony outside.
Suited and booted in a blue suit and checked waistcoat Nick met Katherine under the railway arches where they said their vows in front of their family and friends.
Their relaxed and fun wedding was so them, in fact crafty groom Nick had spent hours painstakingly making all of the decorations and details himself, from the signs down to the invitations and it was lovely to see all of his handmade items including the menus and table plan, all over the venue.
Tower Hill Barns is such a beautiful wedding venue in its own right and all it needed was a few personal touches to make it look even better. They used scrabble tiles as place names to reflect their love of board games and Katherine’s flowers, blush pink bridesmaid’s dresses and elegant lace bodiced wedding dress fitted in with the rustic theme perfectly.
Her thoughtful groom even replaced Katherine’s favour with one of her favourite candles from The White Company as a surprise. How gorgeous is that!
After a hilarious speech from Katherine’s dad the sun started to go down, the festoon lights came on and the happy couple made their way outside for their first dance. They walked towards each other as “I don’t wanna miss a thing” by Aerosmith played but then the music changed to the upbeat “You make my dreams come true” by Hall and Oates as they met.
After inviting everyone to twirl around the courtyard with them, it was all inside to dance the night away to band H2NY which both of them admitted was their favourite part of the day.
I had such a great day with Katherine and Nick capturing all of their unscripted moments and the love and laughter of their family and friends.
I can’t wait to get back to Tower Hill Barns and do it all again for another couple, all I can hope for is that it’s as beautiful, relaxed and fun as Katherine and Nick’s special day.
